QedON meets the South African Ambassador

Susan Madden and Dylan Smith met with the South African Ambassador to Ireland, H.E. Ms. Nicolette Schreiber, at the South African Embassy in Dublin, to discuss QedON's growing presence in South Africa.

The conversation centred on the role accessible, quality eLearning can play in upskilling South Africa's workforce and opening pathways into employment for job seekers across the country, building on QedON's work since opening its Cape Town office at Cedar Square.

The visit was supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Business Ireland South Africa network (BISA), both of which have played a part in QedON's expansion into the market. Susan and Dylan also brought along a taste of home: Wexford strawberries for the Ambassador.

QedON named Runner-Up for Innovation & Transformation

QedON was named Runner-Up in the Innovation & Transformation category at the County Wexford Business Awards, held on 22nd May 2026 at Whites of Wexford Hotel.

The category, sponsored by Waters Technologies, recognised businesses driving meaningful change through innovation, with Wexford Swimming Pool & Leisure Centre taking the top award on the night.

Nearly 450 guests attended the sold-out gala, part of a night celebrating the county's business community across 18 categories, organised by County Wexford Chamber.

Introducing ExpertEd

QedON officially launched ExpertEd at The Hatch Lab in Gorey on 5th May 2026, a new initiative giving individual experts and subject matter specialists affordable access to the QedON platform.

Where QedON's core service is built for organisations, ExpertEd is built for individuals: professionals who want to turn years of hands-on knowledge into a properly designed, hosted and supported course, without having to build or manage a platform of their own.

ExpertEd includes course hosting, educational design support and the same platform infrastructure QedON's organisational clients rely on, giving experts a genuine route to launch a course without doing it alone.

The Taoiseach visits The Hatch Lab

An Taoiseach visited The Hatch Lab in Gorey, the shared workspace QedON calls home, on 21st January 2026, as part of a broader look at the businesses building international operations from the South East.

The visit highlighted how Gorey and the wider South East region are increasingly home to companies with genuine global reach, QedON among them, working across Ireland, South Africa, Australia and Ghana from a single base in County Wexford.

Dylan Smith named Young Business Person of the Year

Dylan Smith, CEO and Co-Founder of QedON, was named Young Business Person of the Year 2023 by Fingal Chamber, in recognition of his work building QedON from a Wexford-based startup into an international eLearning company operating across Ireland, South Africa and beyond.

The award reflects Dylan's leadership in growing QedON's accredited training offering, and the broader vision behind the company: making professional-standard, quality-assured education accessible to organisations that might otherwise be priced out of it.

QedON expands into Ghana

QedON's African chapter began with a partnership with Accra Business School in Ghana — a step toward bringing the same standard of accredited, quality-assured eLearning already delivered across Ireland and South Africa to West Africa.

The partnership reflects QedON's founding belief: that professional, industry-recognised training shouldn't be limited to organisations with the biggest budgets. Working with Accra Business School opened the door to a new generation of learners in Ghana, with QedON's instructional design and platform expertise behind them.

It's an early chapter in QedON Africa's story, and one the team continues to build on as the business grows its presence across the continent.
